National Scrapbook weekend

Hello again crafty peeps!

I hope you were able to get some crafting time in this weekend. I sure did :)
I participated in a online crop over on Scrapbook Nerd.com. There were lots of great challenges, I got several challenges completed.

I'm sharing a couple of projects today;
a card for a 4's challenge

A canvas for a no paper challenge

I made this in an hour, can you believe it?
I'm a slow crafter so that's fast.

It's also Monday here's what I made for the Use Your Stuff
texturize challenge this week....

Thanks for poppin' by :)

Use Your Stuff challenge #82

It's Monday and just in case you forgot because I haven't posted one for sometime...
it's time for a challenge over on the Use Your Stuff blog.

I made a simple card for this weeks Spring into Pastel challenge.
I almost never work with pastel colours, it was nice to use some of the first Dear Lizzy
paper line that has been sitting in my stash for a while.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you can join us this week :)

Poppy canvas

Hey there stranger,

I guess my blog break lasted a bit longer than planned. It's with good reason though :)
I have been busy with a new online store called Scrapbook Nerd. I hope to start posting back here on my personal blog more often with some of my crafty projects.

This is a canvas I made while away with some friends at Scrappin' Cabin.
I used old book paper in the background and some tissue paper over top before I added the paint.

The poppy flower top is a stamp by Donna Downey. Now I have to decide where to hang it in the house. I love the way it turned out.

See ya soon.

Holy crap I scrapbooked~!

It's my turn to set the challenge on the Use Your Stuff challenge blog and
I MADE A NEW LAYOUT! Shocking I know.

The challenge is to make something birthday themed.

This layout is more about my fabulous friends and the way they helped me to celebrate,
than it is about my birthday. Sadly with all those crafters in one room we never got a group
shot or one of all the food they made. So I made due with what I had.

Thank you friends!!!!

I hope you can join us this week :)

Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...
It's snowing and some squirrels are playing in the trees

I am thinking... about today's To Do list

I am thankful... that I have a handy husband

In the kitchen... the painting is almost done, just the drawers and walls left

I am wearing... comfy clothes that I would never wear in public ;)

I am creating... journaling cards for project life (I am giving it another go this year)

I am wondering... how to get it all done?

I am reading... my morning news.... blog hopping

I am looking forward to... seeing Barb tomorrow

I am learning... web design is not so easy

Around the house... things are coming together. renovations are almost complete

A favorite quote for today... "if it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you'll find an excuse."

One of my favorite things... the way my dogs always find a spot right beside me

A peek into my day...

The boxing up has begun. It's a little sad to pack up the Christmas decoration.

My Art House

Good morning bloggers,

I have a canvas to share with you today. I made this for Karen at the Art House Studio, she challenged her customers to make a 6x12 canvas with a house on it for her new studio.

check out TAHS blog for more about the art house canvases.

Art journal

Hey there crafty people,

So a few posts ago I shared my first art journal page and I'm back today to share a new one. Last Thursday night I spent the day at The Art House Studio, every other thursday Karen hosts an art journaling evening.

This is what I made....

I used a new stamp I bought, love those flowers! A few stencils from the crafters' workshop and this set
Using purple is hard for me so I made it my background. One regret is that I did not add more to the bottom of the page. I tried to add some leaves but they just did not look right.   So I left is as is.

I love working in an art journal; it's a place to create freely, easy decisions and just play with my supplies.

The Art House Studio is having their Grand Opening tomorrow in their new location. Maybe I'll see you there :)

Use Your Stuff Monday

I know Halloween just ended but I've already been thinking of Christmas.
I'm a little behind with the designing of my cards this year, so far just one design.

Christmas or Holiday themed project.

While searching my computer for the above image I came across some holiday projects
from years past and I thought I would recap some here.

This is just so cute I had to share it again.
Awwwww

Art Journaling

Well hey there you.
Today I thought I would share my first ever art journaling page.
There it is up there ^. It was So much fun to make, just playing around without planning or lengthy decision making. One thing I learned today is that if I am going to include writing and dumpy texture on the same page, I must leaving a spot free for the writing without the texture. duh.
I found it a little hard to write out this quote by George Cooper over top of the mesh.

"October gave a party; the Leaves by the hundreds came - The Chestnuts, Oaks,
and Maples, and Leaves of every name. The Sunshine spread a carpet,
and everything was grand, Miss Weather led the dancing, Professor Wind the band."

I was inspired to try art journaling by following some talented ladies on their blogs or store sites.
Here are a few (click their names to visit their sites): Karen from The Art House Studio -- Glenda T. -- A Year in the Life of an Art Journal -- Donna Downey (check out her Inspiration Wednesday's)

I was wondering who or what inspired you to try something new recently?

Wordless Wednesday - creative mess

Have an awesome day :)
